EUDR Compliance Support

Prepare traceability and geolocation evidence for EUDR due diligence.

HeritageIQ helps coffee suppliers keep farm boundaries, harvests and lots linked in one record, so the origin information EU operators ask for is ready when they ask.

The regulation in brief

Coffee sold into the EU must be traced to where it was grown.

The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 as amended by Regulation (EU) 2025/2650, covers coffee alongside cattle, cocoa, oil palm, rubber, soya and wood.

  • Covered products must be deforestation-free after 31 December 2020 and produced legally in the country of production.
  • The operator first placing relevant products on the EU market, or exporting them, is responsible for the due-diligence process and statement under the amended EUDR. Other supply-chain actors have obligations appropriate to their role.
  • The due-diligence statement includes the geolocation of the plots of land where the commodity was produced: a point, or a polygon for larger plots.

The problem for coffee suppliers

Your EU customer's due diligence depends on your records.

Due diligence sits with the operator that first places the coffee on the EU market or exports it, but it can only be done with plot-level information from origin. Exporters, cooperatives and estates are being asked for farm locations and a clear link from lot to plot.

Collected at the last minute, that information is incomplete, and the link between a shipped lot and its farms is hard to show.

Where HeritageIQ helps

The origin evidence, organised before it is needed.

Geolocation

Farm boundaries from the field

Boundaries are captured by walking or mapping the farm in HeriShamba, checked for valid shape, and kept with dated versions.

Plot to harvest

Harvests tied to their plot

Each harvest is linked to the boundary in effect on its date, so later corrections do not break the link.

Harvest to lot

Lots traced to farms

Processing and custody records connect each lot to the harvests and farms it contains, with each farm's share.

Supporting evidence

Field evidence with location

Photos with time, GPS and a fingerprint support the farm record and can be checked against the boundary.

What stays with you and your advisers

HeritageIQ supports due diligence. It does not replace it.

  • It does not assess deforestation or land-use change, for example from satellite imagery.
  • It does not assess legality of production or the country risk level.
  • It does not file due-diligence statements in the EU information system.
  • It does not certify farms or decide whether a product is compliant.

These remain the responsibility of the operator and the specialists it works with. HeritageIQ gives them better origin records to work from.

Workflow

Getting a supply base ready.

  1. List the supplying farms

Set up each farm with its owner or manager and the people who will record for it.

  2. Map each boundary

Capture boundaries in the field and review them before acceptance.

  3. Record harvests and processing

Keep the chain from plot to lot as the season runs.

  4. Share with your EU customer

Provide origin records for their due diligence. How records are handed over is agreed during the pilot.

Who it serves

Suppliers into EU supply chains

  • Exporters and marketing agents selling to EU buyers
  • Cooperatives collecting plot data for members
  • Estates selling directly into Europe
  • EU importers working with their origin partners

Practical value

Ready before the question arrives

  • Plot geolocation collected at the farm, not guessed
  • A lot-to-plot link you can show
  • Boundary history kept when plots are corrected
  • Less scrambling ahead of each shipment

We will show you how farm boundaries, harvests and lots come together, and scope a pilot around the farms supplying one of your EU customers.
