Digital Product Passport
A Coffee Lot Origin Record your buyers can open and check.
The HeritageIQ Passport publishes the accepted history behind one coffee lot as a fixed record. Buyers open it from a link and can see that it has not changed since it was issued.

Illustrative Passport · Fictional buyer-facing data
Supplying farms and the accepted boundary history behind their harvests.
Accepted harvest, processing and custody history remains connected to the lot.
Stored snapshot and source fingerprints are checked whenever the Passport is served.
The problem
Origin claims travel as PDFs and emails that anyone can edit.
A buyer receives a spec sheet saying which farms, which process, which season. They have no way to see where it came from or whether it was changed along the way.
Each new buyer question means another round of collecting documents.
Sample Passport
Give the buyer one record they can actually inspect.
This fictional example shows the structure of the buyer-facing result. A real Passport is generated from the accepted records connected to the published coffee lot.
Origin without publishing the farm's raw coordinates.
Buyers can see the farm identity and which accepted boundary applied to the harvest without turning the public Passport into a downloadable farm survey.
A fixed record, not a live page that silently changes.
Publication freezes the buyer-facing snapshot. Later corrections require a new published record rather than rewriting the old one.
Integrity is clear about its limits.
The fingerprint check detects change to the published snapshot and source list. It is not an independent certification of the underlying facts.

From seller to buyer
The Passport travels with the commercial conversation.
HeritageIQ does not replace the sale. It gives the seller a stable origin record to send with the coffee offer, sample or contract discussion.
- 01SellerPrepare the identified lot
The commercial lot groups the coffee being presented to the buyer, with its accepted provenance already connected.
- 02HeritageIQPublish the fixed Passport
HeritageIQ creates the immutable buyer-facing snapshot and source manifest for that publication.
- 03SellerShare the public link
The exporter, estate or marketing agent sends the Passport link alongside the normal sales conversation.
- 04BuyerOpen and inspect
The buyer can review lot identity, farm origin, harvest history, processing, custody and available evidence.
- 05BuyerAsk better questions
The record does not make the buying decision. It gives both sides a common history to discuss before trading.
Workflow
From accepted records to a published Passport.
Records accepted
Farm, harvest, processing and custody records are accepted into HeritageIQ.
Lot assembled
The finished coffee is grouped into a commercial lot with a single current custodian.
Passport published
HeritageIQ builds the record from the lot's history, fingerprints it, and gives it a permanent public link.
Shared with buyers
Send the public link with samples, offers or contracts. A machine-readable JSON view is also available from the public Passport endpoint.
Who it serves
Issued by sellers, opened by buyers
- Exporters and marketing agents issuing Passports for lots
- Direct-selling estates presenting their own coffee
- Importers and roasters receiving origin records
- Producer organisations showing members' contribution
Practical value
One link instead of a document pack
- One origin record per lot, ready when the lot is
- Buyers can check that it has not been altered
- Supports buyer questionnaires and due diligence
- Gives substance to single-origin marketing
Good to know
What the integrity check does, and does not, prove.
- The integrity check proves the published record has not changed since it was issued. It does not independently prove that every underlying fact is true.
- A Passport is not a certificate, a quality grade or a compliance decision.
- Passports are currently produced for coffee lots.
